Re the unreferenced tag. I have added some external links, but I got info from the author bio on a copy of "The Measure of My Days" (Penguin, ISBN0140051643 (I got the book by mistake, so I don't know anything else about her. Hopefully someone who knows can add some more info)) and from this website. I don't want to link to it in the article, because it's got too many annoying popups and ads.
