In the foot drop article, it lists causes such as ALS and Lou Gehrig's disease. These are synonymous. The Lou Gehrig's disease should be dropped. Perhaps a better entry would include.......amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ( also called Lou Gehrig's disease).. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.86.231.10 (talk) 23:16, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Physiatrist is not the same as physical therapist. A physiatrist is a physician (MD) specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.46.170.36 (talk) 07:34, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Needs major expansion as to other underlying causes

[edit]

Foot drop (droop) can result from any of several system disorders causing atrophy of the muscles holding the foot up. These include various Muscular Dystrophies, etc. With diagnosed FSHD Muscular Dystrophy, I've had Foot-drop for decades, only one of many muscles lost due to specific genetic muscle-cell damage -- (unrelated to any Neurological disorders). Thus this article is incomplete, written from one viewpoint, needing expansion including other causes. Thanks HalFonts (talk) 16:48, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to say this section is extremely off topic and someone should remove it. --73.133.126.19 (talk) 10:36, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is a section called "Identification of a suspect in a murder case". It's about one aspect of foot drop. Why do you think that is off topic? SchreiberBike | ⌨  13:49, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
