Only Southern fort not captured?

[edit]

"Fort Pickens held the distinction of being the only Southern fort not to be captured by the Confederacy." But what about Fort Monroe? Jbhood 12:04, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting reference to "only Southern fort not to be captured" because of Fort Monroe as counterexample. Jbhood 15:38, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I readded the reference, but I altered it to read "the only Southern fort in the original seven Confederate States of America to remain uncaptured by the Confederady." After the Ft. Sumpter fell, Ft. Pickens was the only Southern fort not in Union hands, then when more states seceded, more forts remained uncaptured. Emperor001 (talk) 05:45, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
