Article
[edit]I took this article from a stub to a half way decent article two years ago. While I have been away the article has been practically eviscerated! Will update with refs. I am mystified by a Realtor ad that is claimed to being used as a ref and yet another piece of the article being deleted. No Comprende~! A Nelles ghost? — DocOfSoc • Talk • 06:46, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Just wanted to let readers know why I edited the community part. I changed where it said that Nelles is in the middle of town. Nelles actually forms part of the western boundary for the City of Whittier. ON the east side is Whittier but everyone on the western side of Nelles, while they do have Whittier addresses, is actually in unincorporated LA county. My knowledge comes from being born in and growing up in Whittier and continuous involvement in community events, including working for campaigns that required canvassing the actual neighborhoods that are part of the City of Whittier. Presbyterian Hospital, just south of Nelles, also forms the Western boundary for Nelles. Everything west of Presbyterian and Nelles is currently not part of the city of Whittier but is located in unincorporated Whittier and as such they are served by the county rather than the city. This is relevant to the discussion over the proposals for the site due to the question of whether those who live outside the city's boundaries should be included in the discussion. To date all the input has come from the eastern most parts of the city and a planning commission member has expressed dissatisfaction with the amount of input allowed in from those living in the immediate vicinity of Nelles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.176.201.90 (talk) 20:22, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
Sources
[edit]The source [1] is not a webpage of the State of California or of the California Youth Authority. What makes you think that it is? The domain "topjuviniledefender" alone tells you that Look at the top of the page: "The Law Offices of George I Kita". This is simply not a reliable source.
There are other sourcing issues with this article as well.
- Footnote 2 - LA Almanac. Looks dubious as a source
- Footnote 3 - UrbanPlanningPrinciples is a blog, not a reliable source
- Footnote 7 - Nospank.net is not a reliable source. Reprinting a LA Times article is a copyright violation.
- Footnote 10- Robocaster link is a dead link. It appears to be linking to an editorial. An editorial is not a reliable source for a statement of fact
