I don't really understand this article... following the infobox, it was released before Not Fair. At Lily's discography article, it says this song was released in .177|79.112.53.177]] (talk) 21:13, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

the song has only been officially released in certaion countries but has charted in lots due to digital downloads. its going to be released officially in the uk in august but has charted already due to downloads when the album was released. when the song and video get airplay then it will climbMister sparky (talk) 16:32, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name?

[edit]

What is this song going to be called when used on the radio? They can't censor the actual name TR Wolf (talk) 23:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

like with the britney song if u seek amy, they just called "Amy". with this they will probably call it "You" or "Fluff You" or something like that Mister sparky (talk) 02:58, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bush

[edit]

In her live concerts, when singing this song, Lily confirms it's about George W Bush. TR Wolf (talk) 23:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

need to find a reliable third party source for it to warrant being mentioned in the article Mister sparky (talk) 02:57, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I believe I've found a reliable reference[1]. On the other hand, there is this[2], from an earlier date, claiming she "has removed a particular target."
I added a reference to a YouTube clip in which Lily Allen says the song was originally written about George W. Bush. The nme.com article above also states that she said the song was about Bush. The line "You want to be like your father" could also be easily interpreted as a reference to the second President Bush, who's father was also president. Finally, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that "Guess Who Batman" and "Get With the Brogram" (mentioned in this article's intro) have the same initials as George W. Bush (GWB). --JHP (talk) 21:22, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

== "following sentence made hidden" Concerning the following part : Well, either it's really unrelated and uninteresting, and the sentence must be deleted, or it is something of interest and it should be rewritten. According to me, it Does matter to know if the song is (musically) a "copycat" of something else or not. I've heard the analysis of the similarities between the two songs, they exist and are of importance. Yet there is no "official" polemic (no trial or anything) and as for as I know there is only 1 analysis of the problem (by a serious but small french TV channel, the archive is visible on line but only in French and as a paid service). Not really enough to mention it on Wikipedia - as long as the Japanese band or a big media doesn't do anything at least. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.237.75.195 (talk) 23:44, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think one of the roles of a contributive encyclopedia may be to gather information about the issue. For that, the issue would have to remain visible on the main page. The formulation was intended to be allusive, in order to not wrongly accuse anyone. Maybe both composers have a common source in the public domain. The origin of the music of a song is not a minor issue however, for an encyclopedic article about a song, be it an old theme composed 100 years ago or a Japanese song composed 4 years before. My suggestion is to make the sentence visible again and see if there is some reaction. I won't do it myself though, as I am the original writer of this sentence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.227.48.90 (talk) 07:53, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Song's message

[edit]

I find it strange that the other Lily Allen songs tell you the basic plot/message of the song, but this one completely neglects the anti-homophobic lyrics. If we can talk about Allen "stretching the Eiffel Tower" or "expanding an Afro" with her hands, surely there can be a little mention of song's subject? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.232.100.232 (talk) 22:47, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean other song articles? -mattbuck (Talk) 00:36, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
*facepalm* Yes, I meant the other song articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.225.51.224 (talk) 05:00, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Because this is Wikipedia and no one is supposed to mention anything "Gay" for fear of insulting bigots with pejoratives like "opposes LGBT Rights"....--DCX (talk) 09:39, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are as likely to find someone camping out on an article making sure there are no anti-homosexual positions included. But I was wondering, why not put up the lyrics, is there a copyright problem? 2.28.140.201 (talk) 12:07, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Despite its titular reference to the Caped Crusader"

Carpenters sample

[edit]

The article says it only samples the Neighbours (Australian Show) theme, but it makes no reference to the piano reef at the beginning of "Close to you" by The Carpenters, which is completely identical. Anyone care to argue? Else, it should be added to the article.

Raindrops keep falling on my head?

Did anyone else notice that the melody and base line is strait out of that cheesy classic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raindrops_Keep_Fallin%27_on_My_Head? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Csharer (talkcontribs) 20:44, 30 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
