Missouri Project?
[edit]Shouldn't GMAC say what GMAC stands for? Also I'm removing the Missouri Project tag, since there is no reference to MO. Moonraker0022 (talk) 02:45, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
National General Insurance
[edit]GMAC is now National General Insurance, and has been for about a year. What is the process for changing the name of the page, if any?
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vhanudux (talk • contribs) 18:49, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
The top section is uneditable and it has a typo (origionate??). Someone who knows how to change this, please do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeffwinchell (talk • contribs) 00:03, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
Request changes to page
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
I have been paid by National General Insurance to request edits. These are for the National General Insurance page.
- In the National General Insurance infobox please change the products to Auto, life, RV, accident and health, motorcycle, renters and other insurance products.[1] Also lead, CRM and data management platforms for insurance companies.[2]
- Add a Revenue section in the infobox. Revenue: $5.0 billion of 2018 GWP.[3]
- Change the information in number of employees to 8,440 employees[4], 31,270 independent P&C agents and brokers, 49,900 independent A&H agents and brokers (2018)
- They also would like to edit the National General Holdings Corp infobox. Add Subsidiaries: Direct Auto Insurance, Vera Health, Personal Express, Leadcloud, Agent Cubed, RV Insurance
- They'd like this paragraph to be the first paragraph in the History section. The holding company for National General Insurance Company is National General Holdings Corp.[5] They are a specialty personal lines insurance company with personal and commercial automobile, homeowners, recreational vehicle, accident and health insurance products in the U.S.[6]
- They'd also like a new paragraph inserted between the last two paragraphs in History. From 2010 to 2019, National General Holdings Corp. acquired 21 companies. Acquisitions include Velapoint in the health insurance field in February 2012, Personal Express in the homeowner’s insurance area in 2014, Direct General Corporation in the non-standard auto insurance in 2016, and Quotit in 2017 and Leadcloud in 2018 in the data and analytics area.
- They are requesting a new section called Products and this new info. First paragraph: National General Holding Corporation expanded from auto insurance to offer RV insurance through a partnership with Good Sam that began nearly 40 years ago.[7]
- Second paragraph: Non-standard auto insurance is offered online and through 430 brick and mortar Direct Auto Insurance locations.[8] Formerly known as Direct General Insurance, the company rebranded in July 2019 to Direct Auto Insurance.[9] At the same time a new “2nd Chances” advertising campaign was launched featuring Johnny Manziel, Tonya Harding, and Fat Joe as spokespeople.[10]
- Third paragraph: Life and health insurance is offered through National General Insurance[11] and short-term health insurance is offered through Vera Health.[12] Other personal insurance lines include high net-worth Homeowners and Renters Insurance.[13]
- Last paragraph: The company purchased Quotit in 2017[14] and LeadCloud in 2018[15] to create a lead and data services platform used by National General’s subsidiaries along with outside insurance companies.
- They also request for the tag at the top of the page to be removed. Thank you for your assistance.

- My thoughts:
- I think listing a few insurance products is fine. "and other insurance products" is certainly not, especially not with a list that long. I'll try to mimic Allstate.
- Sounds good. I'll make. Implemented
- I'll change to 8,440 employees, but I don't see any precedent for that kind of breakdown. Implemented
- Is "RV Insurance" the name of the subsidiary? If not, I don't think this can go.
- That line already exists in the lede. I don't see a reason to change.
- So, this is history of the holding company, right? I don't think that should be included, unless we rewrite the page to be about the holding company with the insurance company as a sub.
- This is also holding company products, right? Since it lists NGI as one product.
- I can make my variations of the first three edits, but we need to rewrite the rest of the article to broaden more from NGI to the holding company before we make more. --FeldBum (talk) 18:51, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
