This is a very thoughtful and well-written article, especially considering how poor other pro-wrestling articles tend to be on wikipedia. national phenomenom after WCW's demise?[edit]

I don´t think that this section is correct...

The purchase of Georgia Championship Wrestling by the WWF is still considered the tipping point in U.S. professional wrestling's evolution from local or regional sideshow to national phenomenon. The other primary event was the demise of WCW in 2001, which the WWF liquidated much the same as it had Georgia Championship Wrestling.

This makes it sound as if pro-wrestling only became a national (and international) success after the World Wrestling Federation purchased World Championship Wrestling. But while this purchase was the final act in the WWF's rise to a wrestling monopoly, wrestling had long become an international hit before, in the late to mid 80ies, and more than ever in the Monday Night Wars that drew more viewers in front of the TV than wrestling ever had before or after. --84.59.197.162 (talk) 00:22, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
