I'll take this one too. Parsecboy (talk) 16:40, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
- A quick initial comment before I forget - while looking around for images for the Z30 article, I saw this one of Tirpitz and several other vessels. The photo is stated to have been taken in October 1942, and based on Tirpitz's very limited activities at that time, it must have been the voyage down to Trondheim for repairs (and she does appear to be followed by two destroyers, an Admiral Hipper, and a fourth vessel). - Any help with pics would be most welcome. There are great pics of Z26 sinking, but I can't find their provenance so didn't try to upload them. I've gone back and forth about adding the ONI drawing, what do you think?--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 18:03, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'd probably add the ONI drawing in the absence of anything better. As for photos, there is this one of a destroyer after the war (I'd guess you could narrow down which one or two it might be). Not a great photo, but it appears to be the only thing on history.navy.mil. There's obviously quite a lot available on Z39, but
- Yeah, I'd seen that one, but it's really low res and even fully blowing up the giant .tiff file doesn't allow me to really make out the detail of the superstructure and armament. I'm pretty sure that it's lost Gun No. 3, but the washed out quality makes the white superstructure and gun shields blend in pretty well with the sky. I'd balked at using the ONI image for this one because she traded No. 3 gun for more office space. I'm getting tempted to free use the portrait shot of Z28 from Koop & Schmolke. And I think that I'll do that in absence of any other photos of her.
- On some photos unrelated to the current series, there's this one of Z21 Wilhelm Heidkamp and this one of some unidentified Type 1934 destroyers.
- I'd missed those, thanks.
- Last, but perhaps not least, there's this photo of the late-war radar apparatuses. Parsecboy (talk) 20:28, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, just like you I'd spotted those radar pics while searching for photos of the Type 36s. I've got them saved for whenever I get around to doing the articles on the radars.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 22:07, 2 March 2018 (UTC)

- "she damaged by" - missing a "was"
- "After repeating the mission again" - what mission? Escorting Deutschland from Gotenhafen to Sassnitz again?
- Yeah, although I've deleted the "again" as it seemed a bit redundant on second reading.
- Ok - it might also be worth clarifying that Deutschland was part of the evacuation effort. Parsecboy (talk) 16:17, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, although I've deleted the "again" as it seemed a bit redundant on second reading.
- "sunk in the latter port two days later by the Royal Air Force after being hit by two bombs amidships with heavy casualties" - this reads oddly to me. I'd say "sunk with heavy casualties in the latter port..."
- Yeah, you know how sometimes you just want to put the thing to bed? This was one of those times.

- Thanks for catching these.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 15:49, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- Everything looks to be in order, passing now. Parsecboy (talk) 13:16, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
