German flag in the article introduction

Why does this article not display the German flag that was in use during the 1936 Summer Olympics? It makes little sense to show the modern flag with the caption "Flag of Germany in 1990." It would make sense to show the flag of the nation in 1936—the year of the Summer Olympics—with the caption "Flag of Germany in 1936." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.116.14.140 (talk) 18:53, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
