Not just a satellite channel

[edit]

Gospel Music Channel isn't just available on satellite. While this may have been true at one time, it is no longer the case, particularly due to an agreement between them, the former Black Family Channel and numerous cable operators that resulted in numerous cable systems adding GMC as a replacement for BFC (see [1] for more details). I am content editor for gmc's website.

I am working on making changes that will make this article more neutral. When is it okay to remove the flags/problem tags? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jbennett gmctv (talkcontribs) 18:32, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have a conflict of interest, it would be best if you proposed changes here and let an editor not so closely connected with the subjet make changes. There are already significant problems with the article and its neutrality is being questioned. Best not to make that any worse.--RadioFan (talk) 02:13, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gospel Music ChannelGMC TV – The network changed its name two years ago. 'Gospel Music Channel' isn't listed as a name on their web site,[2] and 'gmc' or 'GMC TV' is used exclusively in press releases and on the web site. A google search of "GMC TV" finds many hits in trade mags (although I'm not finding quality secondary sources about this network since the name change). 'gmc' is also used, but usually for branding, but 'GMC TV' seems to be used for discussions of the business (see the press releases[3]), and is also used in the URL. The network cites Nielson ratings to claim it is available in 50M households, and has 230K prime time viewers[4], so I think prominent enough to warrant any confusion this causes with General Motors Corporation. When I search "GMC" in google, the second item after General Motors is the network website, which beats out individual car models, etc. -LaTeeDa (talk) 17:12, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Waltons

[edit]

I looked forward each week-day to watching the Waltons at the end of my work-day. Now it is being replaced more and more by 7th Heaven. I am not a fan of 7th Heaven. Please put the Waltons back on. Respectfully, Rhonda L. in Gainesville, Ga.68.114.8.184 (talk) 02:16, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A request to UP tv network. Would love to see the series Trapper John, MD with Pernell Roberts.Series available so please try to acquire it and show it on a night of the week. Thank you for the wonderful programs on UP. I love Heartland and others. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.105.157.121 (talk) 22:52, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Where is Heartland

[edit]

I am in the USA (Louisiana,Pineville). I have been able to watch to view the show on UPtv. Where is the show gone? Pease keep Heartland on the air. I am loking forward to the 9th season. This is the best family, show drama that we get to watch in the USA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.217.158.67 (talk) 21:49, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Discontinuing Heartland on the UP station for broadcast in the USA

[edit]

We find it very disheartening that you have chosen not to continue carrying Heartland here in the States. I think you would be surprised at the following the show has here in the States. I find it very curious that you would choose to discontinue such a wonderful family show. We have followed this show from the beginning, as many of our friends have, and are extremely saddened by your decision. We are asking that you please reconsider your decision and that you continue to carry Heartland here in the States. Infobox Outdated

[edit]

UPtv's headquarters are not in College Park, Georgia. The correct location is Atlanta, Georgia. Can this be updated in the infobox?

Austinchrps (talk) 03:48, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done Both these sources aren't great (in fact, I can see a very similar-looking source that appears to have pulled the inaccurate information straight from wikipedia), but the current information is completely unsourced. In this case I'm going to use the company's linkedin, since this an uncontroversial WP:ABOUTSELF, Rusalkii (talk) 07:49, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

20th Anniversary - History

[edit]

In 2024, UPtv marks its 20th anniversary. Over the past two decades, the network has expanded its family-friendly, inspirational programming across cable and streaming platforms, while maintaining its commitment to delivering uplifting content.

Could an editor incorporate this company milestone into the history section of the UPtv article? Austinchrps (talk) 04:23, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is the link meant to be a reference? The wording here is also quite promotional. -- NotCharizard 🗨 14:27, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done This is very promotional and is not going to be accepted. Declining request. C F A 💬 14:38, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Uplifting Entertainment

[edit]

The current article summary states, "The name and logo are a reference to Uplifting Entertainment, one of the channel's content providers." This statement is inaccurate. The linked Uplifting Entertainment wiki page, a Christian production company, has no affiliation with UPtv. Uplifting Entertainment is not a content provider for UPtv.

UPtv is one of several television networks owned and operated by UP Entertainment[1], alongside AspireTV, UP Faith & Family, aspireTV Life, and Cine Romántico. UP Entertainment[2] is the parent company of UPtv.

To improve the accuracy of the article, please consider updating the summary to reflect the correct relationship between UPtv and UP Entertainment. A suggested revision might be:

'The name and logo are a reference to the network's parent company, UP Entertainment, which owns and operates UPtv and several other television networks.' Austinchrps (talk) 15:21, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done , ish. The logo wasn't mentioned in the body at all and seemed excessive in the lead, so I removed it altogether. If you'd like this content reinserted in the body, feel free to suggest where and what phrasing in a seperate request. Rusalkii (talk) 07:53, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
