Project Assessment[edit]

A fine start, but I see two easy ways this can be drastically improved. One, add a few sentences at the very beginning explaining better the context in which this takes place. e.g. "When Japan took over part of Sakhalin Island in 19XX, they named it Karafuto; from then until the end of World War II, the territory was administered by Governor-Generals..." Two, I'm suspicious about the lack of macrons here. Look into that please, and place them where they belong. I'm not Japanese, and I can never be 100% sure with names, but at the very least I usually assume that most names ending in -zo (like Shinzo) or -ro (like Saburo) should have macrons. お願いします。 LordAmeth 23:21, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
