Problematic edits
[edit]This is in reply to ShwmaePawb1's comment on my user talk page.
As I described in my edit summary I reverted your edits because of "too many formatting errors and unsourced content". I am disappointed that you have recreated the same problems rather than discussing them here, please see Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle.
My issues with your current version include:
- "as you see on a sign as you enter the village"
- this should be in a reference, not in the main text
- "South Wales, Wales"
- Either one or the other, not both. I prefer 'Wales'.
- "(Welsh: Goetre)"
- By convention, this should follow the English name
- "Situated on East Street and Goytre Road."
- ungrammatical
- "The Former"
- Should be lower case: "The former".
- "It closed down in late 2017. Also as of 2019 it has been put up for sale since its closure.
- No source is provided and there is no good reason for this to be in bold text. You have separated the citation from the sentence.
- "(English: Three Trees)"
- No source. The origins of places names are often not what they seem at first sight.
- "is a rural district"
- We have said it is a village. Is it also a district?
- Unsourced, and not listed in List of communities in Wales
- "Bryn"
- This links to a disambiguation page, you should have linked Bryn, Neath Port Talbot
- Reference for the Goytre United F.C sentence
- Do not cite Wikipedia in Wikipedia articles (see WP:NOTSOURCE). Moreover, a picture of the club's logo is of no use as a source.
- Infobox
- This should be positioned at the top right corner. Many editors would say that an article this small is better without an infobox.
Please answer or resolve these points, or I will revert again. Verbcatcher (talk) 20:02, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
