Isn't most of this just a content fork of the article on the friendly fire incident, and the rest a kind of sparsely sourced biography? the bio seems to be entirely based on one PDF that's now down. Night Gyr (talk/Oy) 19:42, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Even though I'm the one that started this article, in retrospect it appears to be a content fork and consideration should be made as to whether this article should be nominated for deletion, especially since the primary source for much of the information has disappeared from the web. If someone nominates the article for deletion, I won't object. CLA 20:58, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seems like all of the sources are either directly related to the incident, or down. We'd probably be best just redirecting this and writing a paragraph-long summary of what's known about Kohntopp in the other article. Night Gyr (talk/Oy) 21:59, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. CLA 22:15, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added the merge proposal tags to both articles. We should wait a month or two to allow anyone to comment on them before taking further action. CLA 23:08, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Done; see below. Xyl 54 (talk) 00:59, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

[edit]

I've redirected this title to the incident page, per merge discussions here and at the incident page.
However, there was nothing to merge; As is pointed out above, the only source of the biograhical content was a link to a fraternity magazine article, which is now unavailable, while the friendly fire incident content is already contained in full in the incident article. Also, as pointed out there, this qualifies as an article on a person notable for one event, and follows the treatment of the person who was killed in the incident.
I trust everybody is OK with that. Xyl 54 (talk) 00:57, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
