Is "Station" part of the name?[edit]

The article title and first sentence are not consistent about the capitalisation, and of course per MOS:CAPS it should be capitalise (in both instances) if and only if it is part the station's proper name. Mitch Ames (talk) 11:39, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Station part of name[edit]

Yes I do believe Station is part of the name and needs capitalisation. This is consistent with the naming of most other pastoral leases in Western Australia and other Wiki entries for them. In Trove, newspaper articles refer to stations sometimes as “railway”, “telegraph”, “cattle”, and “sheep.” Stations. In one 1887 article Hamelin is referred to as “Hamelin Pool Station” in an article about the completion of the Telegraph Line to there. This is before Hamelin Station as a sheep station existed. I don’t believe I can change the name?

Merger Proposal[edit]

I propose to merge Hamelin Station Reserve into Hamelin station, Western Australia as both articles refer to the same pastoral lease in Western Australia. Both article contain the same information and references. Hamelin Station Reserve has not yet been officially gazetted as a reserve, but is a private pastoral lease currently being used as a reserve. An additional section should be created in the merged article detailing the conservation value of the lease and a list of species. Philip S (talk) 00:39, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
