Cool Rockin' Teddy[edit]

"Another significant attraction of Hamilton is the residence of "Cool Rockin' Teddy", a local man who walks around the streets singing at the top of his lungs. AKA Norman, this simple man has gained many fans including none other than Australian Idol's own Mark Holden." This bit was added by the author of Davido.

I'm inclined to suggest a revert on general principles, unless someone can verify the existance of this Cool Rockin' Ted?

I think all contributions from the Davido author should be treated with suspicion, but we shouldn't assume it to be false purely based on this. --Cnwb 02:36, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well chaps, if you alter anything I've just added then for shame on you. The above mentioned "Cool Rockin' Ted" is a real person, but about half as popular as my good self. Cheers. David Foley 23:08, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah guys 'Teddy' is actually a local celebrity. There isn't one person in the area who hasn't heard of his however as mentioned 'cool rockin teddy' is just a nickname. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.51.162.131 (talk • contribs) .

David, can you explain why the only contributions of 203.51.162.131 are to Davido, this page, the seriously not notable Monivae College and your home page? Regards, Ben Aveling 09:44, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well Ben, if you haven't caught on by now, I am from the Hamilton area, and as such will be updating pages which i feel necessary. In regards to the Davido page, it has been proved to be a farce which I was not involved with. The Monivae College page has now been created by one of my associates, and we shall be updating accordingly. David Foley 21:17, 7 November 2005

Excuse me Ben Aveling why do you suggest that the Monivae College page is not notable? What do you mean by that, kind regards Matthew. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.51.162.131 (talk • contribs) .

Well "Cool Rockin Teddy" is indeed a real person. Bands such as Led Zeppelin, Pantera and Metallica make up the diverse, hard-rocking and colourful repetoire which he vocalises at the top of his lungs with little regard to others opinions on his ability to sing. In history he was known to carry a "boom box" but has, sadly, updated to an mp3 player. only slightly blemishing his "oldschool" style.

Latest Additions[edit]

Hi, I've just been making some major additions to this page. I'm still working on putting all the citations in properly (should happen in the next couple of days) and on an acceptable History section. This is my first page I've really added to on wikipedia, so I'd appreciate any feedback, comments, etc. Kate W 20:37, 21 August 2006

Your additions looked fine - sorry nobody answered you in a timely manner. I'm curious if you have any history on the naming of the local newspaper. I find it interesting that "Spectator" is not a very common name for a newspaper, but "The Hamilton Spectator" in Victoria is not The Hamilton Spectator! --Scott Davis Talk 11:06, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've wondered about this in the past. I'll see if I can dig anything up. Possibly if anyone's interested enough to do it, "The Hamilton Spectator" warrants its own entry. Krwor2 15:36, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I would agree --Mikecraig 21:22, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
