The two articles cover different topics. This article is about a computational problem that can be solved on a digital quantum computer using a polynomial number of quantum gates. The other article seems to be about analog quantum simulators, i.e., analog quantum systems that simulate other quantum systems, without decomposing the problem into quantum gates and so on.
