Knob on bottom

[edit]

I have always wondered what the story was behind the knob jutting out along the southern border of this county. Obviously, when they were drawing the line, someone wanted that bit of land to be part of Massachusetts. What was the reason? WHo was behind it? A brief summary can be found here. The references listed should give you more details if you want to dig deeper. It's basically the result of a compromise agreement due to a border dispute. --Polaron | Talk 17:49, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
