Viking???[edit]

Does any, single source mention him as viking, or ist this just a Wikipedia fabrication? Dan Koehl (talk) 09:10, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Coupland, p. 91, calls him "Harald the Viking leader". Srnec (talk) 00:28, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I should have asked for a prime source. Its pretty uninteresting which private opinion a person had, or even fabricated. I doubt very much that he was mentioned as viking in any historical source. This must have been fabricated some 50-100 years ago.~It is however, well documented that he organized a national defence AGAINST vikings, and viewed them as his enemies. Dan Koehl (talk) 00:34, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody has to provide you with a primary source. That's never been how Wikipedia works. Your position is well known and you are disrupting Wikipedia to make a WP:POINT. Srnec (talk) 00:41, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
By all means, you are entitled to your opinion about other persons, which is however not a fact. This person was never a Viking leader, and you just violated the Wikipedia, though, by removing a temple which reads: "Please do not remove this message until conditions to do so are met." See also Help:Maintenance template removal. Please do not repeat, and remove the template. Dan Koehl (talk) 00:50, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The conditions have been met. You demanded a source. A reliable one was provided. Your opinions about primary sources and current scholarship are irrelevant. Srnec (talk) 22:27, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you read the Help:Maintenance template removal, theres nothing there written about that Srnec decide when a discussion about a page is over. If you remove the template once more, I will report you to edit war dept. Dan Koehl (talk) 06:34, 14 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with user:Srnec, whom gave a reliable source. I am sure the user easily will find more reliable modern English sources saying he was a “Viking leader”. That he was a Dane is also written. We have to write according to reliable sources written by historians in modern language. And these people, like his uncle too, Rorik of Dorestad are called vikings. Right now Koehl has this discussion on different pages with different users. Why not gave all whom are involved in this discussions in only one discussion and come to a conclusion (like we tried to do on Swedish spoken Wikipedia)? Solve it once and for all and then go on to other matters. Adville (talk) 15:55, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
