Possible COI

[edit]

When I was studying biology, I worked as an undergraduate student in de Wit's laboratory (1977-1978), which resulted in my first scientific publication. I learned much from him, probably more than either of us realized at the time and not all about botany (and despite the fact that for half of my stint in the lab he was collecting in Angola). I based this article on the Dutch WP version (which was not written byme) and think that I have been reasonably objective and have avoided any peacock terms or POV. However, it might be good if another editor could have a look and check (please leave a note her in that case). Thanks. --Crusio (talk) 10:57, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Additions

(there is nothing that needs to be removed)

  1. Do you have a copy of the Festschrift? It may have some more information about his life--his family, for example, his secondary school. That he comes from a swampy area is interesting considering his later specialization in aquatic plants.
  2. Describe briefly what the 2 genera or his major work are & where they are from geographically.
  3. That some of them are major aquarium plants is implied, but it should be said as it makes the connection.
  4. List his publications separately as a part of the article, not as references.

  • Thanks for having a look at this. I have a copy of the Festschrift and used it for parts of this bio. Unfortunately, it does not give any information on his provate life. I know he was married and that his wife passed away a few years before him and I also know that he had (at least) one son. But I have no sources for this. When I have time, I'll attend to your other suggestions. --Crusio (talk) 18:40, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
