BBC's Antiques Roadshow, broadcast on 3 January 2016, featured Pitman's great-niece who owned Pitman's original manuscript diary, as well as a photograph of the four surviving officers and Pitman's replacement Certificate of Discharge (the original having been lost in the sinking). I am a distant living relative of Herbert Pitman, grandaughter of Horace Pitman. I believe Herbert is Horace's fathers cousin. Horace also did Navigation in the Navy. |
