Notable

[edit]

This song is not notable. Per WP:MUSIC#SONGS, "Most songs do not merit an article and should redirect to another relevant article, such as for a prominent album or for the artist who wrote or prominently performed the song. Songs that have been ranked on national or significant music charts, that have won significant awards or honors or that have been performed independently by several notable artists, bands or groups are probably notable."

That the song is a single by a notable artist does not establish notability under WP:MUSIC#SONGS.

Belief that the song will be notable at some point in the future is not a valid reason for an article.

If, at some point in the future, the song becomes notable, give it an article then.

I wish people would go too billboard and look up songs if ther are on here befoere saying they are not notable. Here's a billboard reference of Rick Ross's singles. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/retrieve_chart_history.do?model.chartFormatGroupName=Singles&model.vnuArtistId=690440&model.vnuAlbumId=1092306 Y5nthon5a (talk) 20:21, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And this is proving that this song is getting even bigger: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/esearch/chart_display.jsp?cfi=364&cfgn=Singles&cfn=Hot+R%26amp%3BB%2FHip-Hop+Airplay&ci=3097082&cdi=9811312&cid=06%2F28%2F2008 Y5nthon5a (talk) 20:21, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As it presently stands, this article does not meet notability requirements. If you are claiming that the song has charted, don't say it here, add it to the article (with a cite, of course). If you are saying Billboard mentions/discusses/lists the song, please review WP:MUSIC#SONGS. If you are saying the song will be notable at some point, it's a moot point.

Long story short, don't argue on talk that the song is notable based on information not contained in the article, add it to the article.

Thanks,
