Playboy Clubs[edit]

  • Would the Playboy Clubs, which used to be in many cities in the United States, be the closet example,in the Western world to these?--Hailey 16:40, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

HMmmmm... I dont know.. I've never heard of a playboy club... sounds like something similar though. perhaps host and hostess clubs are slightly lower profile and more common, but i think so, judging from the playboy cub wiki. - sunawave

Merge into "hostess bar" article[edit]

I don't see a need for two distinct articles. As hostess clubs are the more common of the two, I suggest this article be merged into hostess bar. Drcwright 03:30, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is a lot that could be said about each, as both support a completely different "culture" (the type of people who go to hostess clubs are very different to the type of people who go to host clubs), and hostess clubs find their roots in the whole geisha thing, whereas host clubs have a rather more peculiar reason for existing. There aren't enough sources about this stuff yet though, and in it's current shape it certainly doesn't deserve to be a separate article.  freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ  01:40, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
