Highlander?[edit]

The general appears to be in the uniform of a Scots Highland regiment but the text makes no reference to his ever being in such a regiment (only the English regiment he joined is named). Assuming the pictured man is the same man, this needs to be accounted for - had he switched to a Scots regiment in his career or been given an honorary colonelcy? His CWGC casualty record gives his regiment as "Commands and Staff".Cloptonson (talk) 21:16, 13 September 2012 (UTC) Clues for anyone trying to identify the regiment. A check in Haileybury College website of its list of USC students who died serving in 1914 contains the picture, from newspaper article (showing first few lines of text and headline which names him). He is wearing hackled bearskin and plaid but instead of a kilt or 'trews' he is in riding breeches with calf-length boots!86.132.13.37 (talk) 21:29, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
