Importance

[edit]

Anyting to do with the environment is Important. Of course I'm a Inclusionist and an Absolute eventualist--E-Bod 02:18, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

merge

[edit]

Is there really a reason to have a separate article on the boat? Daniel Case 21:01, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clearwater Festival rates a separate article (although I'd entertain a motion to rename it to The Great Hudson River Revival, because that's what everyone calls it). This article should also be moved to the organization's proper name, which I'll do as soon as I'm done here. Daniel Case 21:18, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I'm fine with just The boat being merged. Although all these articles are very short and it would be nice to have one nice article. The Concert is very notable and this page could combine to increase notability. Also the article may not be as easy to expand under a narrow topic. Another option is to merge them together and split it after the sections expand and grow.--E-Bod 21:27, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you (Daniel Case) are a deletionist. Combining the festival into this page cold be the notability this page need to survive other deletionists like yourself. I myself am not a deletionist.--E-Bod 21:31, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Now that you made the Clearwater Festival alot shorter (And alot better) It really should be merged. Please readd the merge tag begose the merge tag is only a suggestion. The merge tag is not what will happen--E-Bod 21:38, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Clearwater Festival

[edit]

Before I fix all the Redirects because of the sloop merge I think we should see if we are going to merge Clearwater Festival Into this Article As well.

I think Clearwater Festival, Despite being popular (and maybe more popular than the group itself) Despite being worthy of it’s own article, should be merged into This Article as well because a lot articles are short and so we can cut out the repeated stuff in each article. These articles about Clearwater all link to each other when they could all be on one page. Combining all the short articles together makes this article that much stronger.--E-Bod 17:03, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm not sure I agree. By keeping things separate, you can encourage people to do research and expand each notable subject. When you merge articles, people tend to boil each section down to its essentials. I have no doubt that each article is notable in its own right. The Festival article could use more history. Both articles could use more discussion of the environmental education aspects. The sailboat portion could use more discussion of the various programs, such as crewing on the boats. Plus, are there three boats, or two? Also, both articles need more references. I am sure there are lots of newspaper articles, etc. that could be cited. What is a "fidded mast"?

[edit]

Not finding any results for "fidded" except mispronunciations in urban slang, which I doubt applies here. --Mfwills (talk) 12:31, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hanged if I know. The word was not essential, so I deleted it. Unfortunately, the Clearwater re-did its website, and the old refs to it are dead. I updated two of them. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:01, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Creation of article "Pollution of the Hudson River"

[edit]

For reasons described at Talk:Pollution of the Hudson River#About this article I created the article Pollution of the Hudson River. I have deleted the content in this article which was covering this topic and replaced the content which was here with the lede of that pollution article and a link to the pollution article.

I propose that anyone with comments post them at that article, because multiple articles had been covering the topic of "pollution of the Hudson River", and I likewise have directed them all to that article. It is best to post there because this new pollution article affects several articles. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:16, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
