Google finds lots of references to a Lake Huechulafquen, but it's in Patagonia Argentina, not Nicaragua. Either the article is just totally wrong, or there's at least two lakes by that name. I suspect the latter, but still the one in Argentina is much more well known -- ProveIt (talk) 15:12, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- Pategonia Argentina Lakes ProveIt (talk) 15:21, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- Even worse, it turns out Patagonia links here ProveIt (talk) 15:31, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
For whatever reason my {{prod|because}} rationale does not appear within the text of the prod template (too much text?), so in the interests of perfect transparency, I am reproducing it here:
- ProveIt flagged this article as factually disputed and unverifiable via google. I did some research and I too cannot find any reference to the lake's existence in Southern Nigaragua (google: Huechulafquen "southern nicaragua" -patagonia = 1 result, to this article); all references under a general search are to the lake in Patagonia. The author's statement that the lake is "196 feet wide" can be taken as an admission or at least indicia of non-notability. As some time has passed without further verification by the author, this article appears to be waste of space.--Fuhghettaboutit 21:55, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- I guess that's another solution--just change it to the lake we know exists and be done with it. --Fuhghettaboutit 13:04, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- I had considered doing that, but it didn't seem quite "kosher". However, when this one is gone I plan to create a stub for the one in Patagonia. -- ProveIt (talk) 14:49, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oh ... someones done that already. I guess the problem is resolved. ProveIt (talk) 14:54, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Lol, that's what I was referring to. I also felt it wasn't kosher somehow, but not enough to mind someone else doing it. --Fuhghettaboutit 23:26, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
