Is it really expected to be released after 'Single'? Single Flopped, so I don't think this is likely.

Failed GA nom

[edit]

The biggest problem I have with this article is that while it adequately covers the success of the single, it doesn't talk about the song itself.

  1. Excluding the lead (which shouldn't mention anything not mentioned in the rest of the article), there is no mention about who wrote the song, who directed the song. If there is any reason why she worked with any of these (such as if she liked the producer's work on other tracks), it should be mentioned.
  2. "Sitting in front of a mirror, Bedingfield slowly removes her wig and makeup, revealing her true self." What exactly is her "true self"? This needs to be specified.
  3. Nothing about the meaning of the song is found anywhere except the lead. Along those lines, why did she decide to write a song about that subject? What is the significance of dressing up as the geisha?
  4. If there were any negative reviews of the song, they should be added. I do understand that this is somewhat of a limited release single, though, so that may not be possible.
  5. While not necessary, a fair use clip of the song would be nice.
  6. Nothing is mentioned about the musical structure of the song. What instruments are used? What tempo? What musical form (i.e. verse-chorus form)?
  7. If the music video was a success on TV, this should be mentioned.

By far the biggest hurdle this article has to reach GA status is information about the song structure. I know that this information may be difficult to find on the net, but it is arguably the most encyclopedic part of the article. Good luck on finding relevant information on the topic. GA Reassessment

[edit]
This discussion is transcluded from Talk:I Bruise Easily/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.

This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force in an effort to ensure all listed Good articles continue to meet the Good article criteria. In reviewing the article, I have found there are some issues that may need to be addressed, listed below. I will check back in seven days. If these issues are addressed, the article will remain listed as a Good article. Otherwise, it may be delisted (such a decision may be challenged through WP:GAR). If improved after it has been delisted, it may be nominated at WP:GAN. Feel free to drop a message on my talk page if you have any questions, and many thanks for all the hard work that has gone into this article thus far.

  • The stuff on "Bruised Water" doesn't belong in "Background and writing", but should be moved down to its own section.
  • There is nothing on musical composition - tempo, instruments etc. - only lyrical content.
  • The second paragraph of "Music video" is unreferenced and appears as WP:OR. Lampman (talk) 09:18, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Since no significant improvements have been made to the article over the last week, I will now delist it. Lampman (talk) 06:36, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
