The page seems outdated
[edit]I’m curious why no Wikipedian (sorry if I’ve got the word wrong) has updated this page since The Matter With Things was released. 2A00:23C6:B603:E600:8842:6096:8B90:B26D (talk) 12:03, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
- I guess that Wikipedians are, like me, waiting for some mainstream reviews of the latest work, The Matter with Things: Our Brains, Our Delusions, and the Unmaking of the World. Currently (unlike The Master and His Emissary) there are barely sufficient to make a separate article on the book notable, though perhaps some material could be added to this biography.
- I'm working on a page for The Matter with Things now. It looks like there are sufficient references for a short, initial page. Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 13:48, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the update. Having taken three months to read the book I can imagine that many of the mainstream reviewers might baulk at the workload for the commercial return it might offer. Anyway thanks again for coming back. 2A00:23C6:B603:E600:8842:6096:8B90:B26D (talk) 10:12, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
- You're welcome. Thanks for the nudge to write the page. Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 10:25, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

- The whole article is a mess and seems to just be bits and pieces from his bio randomly places. I'm going to try to neaten it up and make it clear and encylopediac. Ashmoo (talk) 09:33, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- None of Iain McG's career choices / polymathy are just "bits and pieces" or "random": these multi-disciplinary interests first come together usefully in his work The Master and His Emissary and with even more relevance, ten years later, in The Matter with Things, as those who have studied his work would appreciate. - As for the edit summary "lede establishes notability. not everything ever done", generally speaking and with caveats, it's also important that the lede should reflect and summarise the content of the main body of the article. Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 10:23, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
