The Incredibles[edit]

could someone explain the relationship between Mr. Incredible and his wife. Zeos386sx 02:19, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, this is an encyclopedia rather than a comment board about Venture Brothers. Still, I can't resist a challenge...
As with most of the Venture Brothers, everything is basically a parody of something else. Here, the Incredibles' miserable, dead end marriage is a parody of Reed and Sue Richards in the Fantastic Four. Instead of a healthy, happy family unit you get an insensitive, workaholic husband and an insecure, clingy wife desperate for his attention (and respect, and freedom, and sex, and... well, anything). By the end of the episode, we find that Sally is pregnant and Richard is more interested in the mystery of how Dr. Venture's sample could show pregnancy than noticing his wife bursting into tears and fleeing the room.
As clueless as Richard is, it's easy for any viewer to see that the relationship is pretty much doomed. I mean, c'mon, she's throwing herself at Rusty Venture, for Pete's sake! If that ain't the bottom of the barrel, it's damn close. By the time she meets JJ, she couldn't bail out on Richard faster if she were strapped to an ejection seat. By Guess Who's Coming to State Dinner? they've set up housekeeping, although we hear nothing about a divorce with Richard. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if that little plot complication rears up at some later point.
Well, does that sum it up or are there specific issues you were wondering about?

Fair use rationale for Image:VB107.jpg[edit]

Image:VB107.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
