introductory section needs more inline citations
[edit]Honestly, just that. its clearly summarizing claims below, but should really be inline regardles. homo momo (talk) 16:28, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
- The lede should summarise what's in the rest of the article, so it is not usually required to cite things in the lede assuming they're cited later. WP:LEAD says
As a general rule of thumb, a lead section should contain no more than four well-composed paragraphs and be carefully sourced as appropriate, although it is common for citations to appear in the body and not the lead
. ColinFine (talk) 22:14, 13 February 2024 (UTC)- I've tried to keep the 4 paragraphs rule, but also shortened it somewhat. I also did some amount of work trying to clean up some of the sections below, and keeping a more neutral tone around the public health section. homo momo (talk) 03:14, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
crash reduction is its own debate
[edit]I think some groups have argued that crashes haven't gone down as much with current self-driving cars, which has initiated a debate around how much crashes really will go down. May be worth trying to capture that debate rather than trying to quote the most optimistic estimates. homo momo (talk) 16:35, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, more I read this, less it gives off encyclopedic tone. Much of it is more an essay extolling the virtues of AVs especially the introductory section. homo momo (talk) 20:49, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
Essay-like
[edit]Gave it my best shot a few months ago, but Welfare and all sections below need more edits (copyeditting?) to sound less like an essay and more encyclopedic. Bluethricecreamman (talk) 04:00, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
