I suggest that a separate article should be created wherever a notable candidate stands. Independent candidates, 1977 Ontario provincial election should be renamed Willis Cummins, Independent candidates, 1979 Canadian federal election should be renamed Jim McMillan, Independent candidates, 1981 Ontario provincial election as Frank Esposito etc etc AndrewRT(Talk) 21:57, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- Please bear in mind that this page isn't complete. I've only added one entry so far; more will come later. CJCurrie 03:09, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
What the advantage of grouping together candidates with diffuse views into one page? AndrewRT(Talk) 18:19, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- About two years ago, there was a controversy as to whether or not defeated candidates were sufficiently notable to receive their own biographies. The list pages (organized by party) were designed as a compromise. These candidates may have had diffuse views, but they were all independents -- that's ultimately the important thing.
