Participating automakers list in 2016 and 2023 IIMS, necessary or unnecessary?[edit]

I'm not sure who brought that idea but someone added a list of participating automakers (both cars and motorcycles) attending the 2016 and 2023 shows in their respective sections, which includes info about the halls they occupy in. What was that really necessary? Because AFAIK, most other auto shows articles I've seen here (e.g. Geneva Motor Show, IAA Germany, LA Auto Show, New York Auto Show, etc) never had something like that, just a list of production cars debuts and concept cars debuts. It should've been not present without knowing if it's fine to add them or they were not allowed at all in these type of articles.

Besides, researching which automaker participating the event in each year, whatever present, absent or returning after skipping, is a very tough one, especially without proper cited sources to back that up. For example on the 2023 section for the cars; Audi and Volkswagen are returning participants after absent since 2019, while Kia returned to this exhibition after absent since 2015. Subaru is undetermined for that year if it's either a returning brand after many years or a first-time participant, while Citroen is probably a new entrant or a returning since the 80s.

This needs to be evaluated, but for now, I'll be deleting those automaker lists in the 2016 and 2023 sections respectively as temporarily until the sources are found, while aligning some lines. Do not restore them back until this was solved. Honesty, if we want to figure out which automaker is present or absence in each year of an auto show, it would be much better to make separate section featuring a table for each automaker and each year. 111.95.183.178 (talk) 12:41, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
