Need to Add to Plot Paragraph

[edit]

"There's a switch, if you throw it half the people of the Earth will die; but if you don't then the Human Race will be extinct within a 100 years. What will you do?" "Mankind is the cancer in it's own body, do you love Humanity enough to save it?" "In case they find me, I left you a path, the hardest one yet. Infernor will be at the end, you are my contigency plan, you are Humanities final hope make sure Infernor is unleased, Seek and Find." - Billionaire Geneticist and Evironmental Activist Bertrand Zobrist.

It was Evironmental Activist Bertrand Zobrist belief that due to Human Overpopulation of the next 100 years the Human Race would become extinct as stated during the Video prolog during the opening credits to movie, "It took the Earths Population a 100,000 years to reach a Billion people, 4 Billion 1970s", "8 Billion, now 8 Billion people", "We are destroying the very means Life is sustained", "Over half the animals and fishes have vanished in the last 30 to 40 years", "Every single thing that Plagues the Earth can be traced back to Human Overpopulation", "Over Population, I demand Action, we Clear Cut".

It was Evironmental Activist Bertrand Zobrist belief that the Inferno Virus would "Clear Cut" (kill) 50% of the Earth's Population to a sustainable level; this belief is held by many other Environmental Scientists as portrayed by other Movies and Television Series like the Classic Movie Soylent Green as Humans have used up all of Earth's Resources and killed off the rest and resorts to cannibalism of turning Humans into Soylent Orange, Soylent Yellow and Soylent Green; Movie and Television Series Planet of the Apes as Human Over Population leads to Wars to get Life sustaining Resources as "Only Man Kills Man, Man Kills Apes, Apes do not Kill Apes" according to the 1963 Book by Pierre Boulle and Environmentalist Dame (equal to a British Knighthood) Jane Goodall of the 1960s Popular Environmentalist Movement as her studies of chimpanzees. I found the wording at the end of the plot confusing..Either "Brooks and her allies were killed" (the most likley) or just "Brooks allies were killed". I did not see the movie myself so I do not know.. Which was it? [user nelsoc4 (6:00 AM PST) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.38.223.35 (talk) 13:05, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Differences from novel

[edit]

Is there any information why the end in the movie is not the same as the end in the novel? At the end of the novel, Zobrist's genial virus is set free and the issue of overpopulation solved. In the movie, the essence of the novel gets distorted: the true nature of the virus is not revealed, and the virus is never set free. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.115.130.12 (talk) 21:09, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have the same doubt as you, is that the true end?. In addition, the plot seems to have been copy/pasted from the book except for the end. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Drumerwritter (talkcontribs) 19:10, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Clearly the author of the article did not watch the movie Inferno (2016 Film) and read the book. The nature of the Inferno virus is explained at the very start of the movie during the opening credits, see my recommended addtion to the plot (above) during the movie it was predicted that in 100 years the human population (32 Billion was mentioned?) would become extinct. Slightly-related to this... while there are differences between the novel and the movie (common for most book-to-movie adaptations), I changed the opening paragraph from "loosely based on the 2013 novel" to "based on the 2013 novel". Loosely based would imply there are only vague similarities, whereas the movie has nearly all the same major characters, major scenes, and major locations. VERY few movies reflect the book exactly, but if you're read the book, the movie should be very familiar. Greg Salter (talk) 05:14, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Langdon is a professor at Liberty University?

[edit]

Why does the summary start by describing Langdon as a Liberty University professor? There's no mention of this anywhere else and it's well established in the books and previous films that Langdon is a professor at Harvard. In one scene in the movie, it's mentioned that Langdon was visited in Cambridge, which is where Harvard is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.228.18.251 (talk) 07:25, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
