Some non-DYK-related issues[edit]

Nice article! I've done a few tweaks but don't want to get too involved given that I'm reviewing this for DYK. Here are some issues that sit outside of the DYK process:

I see that "Outer Chetwode Island" is stated in the source but LINZ is the authority on New Zealand place names and there is no such thing. The alternative name given in the source, "Te Kakaho Island", does exist, though.
Some MOS issues with number ranges; in prose "spending 3–4 years" should be rendered as "spending three to four years" (i.e. write out numbers up to ten; use "to" rather than a hyphen)
"though as the species only lays one egg a year" – that doesn't sound quite right. Maybe "members of the species only lay one egg a year"?
