In truth the stastistics refer mostly to overhauled or modified aircraft already in existence.

By September 2004, Iran Aviation Industry had produced more than 1,600 aircraft, 2,182 aero-engines, 1,751 helicopter engines, 149 industrial jet engines, in addition to repairing more than 11 models of aircraft and 18 models of military, commercial and industrial aircraft engines.[1]

If proof can be supplied that they were manufactured from scratch then I will happily re-instate the paragraph--Petebutt (talk) 09:17, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
