Fair use rationale for Image:Iraq football association.gif
[edit]Image:Iraq football association.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:44, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Requested move

The result of the proposal was move. JPG-GR (talk) 22:49, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Dawri Al-Nokhba → Iraq Super League — Since the competition has a commonly used English name, that name should be used, per WP:UE —– PeeJay 21:53, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

- Support move per discussion below. Knepflerle (talk) 16:29, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose - keep the Proper Name of an organisation as the main article name. Set up a redirect from Iraq (or Iraqi) Super League if necessary. - fchd (talk) 05:35, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Just like clubs can have local and translated names, leagues can too. Since the most common English name for this league is "Iraq Super League", that is where the article should be located, with a redirect from "Dawri Al-Nokhba", not the other way around. – PeeJay 12:02, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Any additional comments:
- This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football related page moves. – PeeJay 21:56, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Evidence that the English translation is more commonly used would be useful. Knepflerle (talk) 21:34, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- I have found the following sites that use the term "Iraq Super League" as opposed to "Dawri Al-Nokhba" (or even "Dawri Al-Nokba" as an alternate spelling):
- Even the league's individual season articles on this website are titled as "Iraq Super League". – PeeJay 16:05, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- I first started this page as the Iraqi Super League, but I think it was User:Mussav that moved it to its current name. I didn't have a problem with it, since La Liga, Allsvenskan, Divizia Naţională exist. Chaldean (talk) 21:04, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Personally, I wouldn't argue with the use of La Liga and Allsvenskan as article titles, as the use of those terms is quite prevalent in English, and it would be immediately obvious to a lot of people which league you were talking about if you mentioned either in conversation. However, I would support a move of Divizia Naţională to a different title, since it would not be at all obvious to a casual observer to which league it referred. – PeeJay 22:07, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, for the record, you started the article as "Iraq Football League", before moving it to "Iraq Super League" twenty minutes later. Then, eight months after that, you moved it to "Dawri Al-Nokba", before moving it again three months later to "Dawri Al-Nokhba". – PeeJay 22:12, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Soccerway and FIFA use Iraqi League which is ambiguous, but closer to your proposal than the existing title. Knepflerle (talk) 16:29, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Some sites says the Iraqi League, others says the Iraqi Super League and RSSSF says Iraqi Premier League [1], so it's a little bit confusing. Mussav (talk) 22:17, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. However, few English language websites refer to the league as "Dawri Al-Nokba" or "Dawri Al-Nokhba" (depending on which spelling is more conventional). I would be open to different suggestions for the article's name, but the current name is somewhat against current naming conventions. – PeeJay 22:18, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

This league is top-level, but can someone clarify if it is fully professional or not? I would like to add it to the WP:FPL list. ~Gosox(55)(55) 23:25, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
