a "classic part" of the wider history of World War II
[edit]This seems like kind of a strange expression, I'm going to change it if no one objects. --NEMT 23:05, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
a bit pro-colonialism
[edit]This article really talks up the italian occupation. it seems like there is a bias here. Arthurian Legend (talk) 02:52, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- I've been the most impartial possible, adding only documented data. Hope it is OK now.--OneDalm0 (talk) 19:12, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
I think the only information available about the Libyan occupation has been translated from Italian (aka colonial) sources. Very few Arabic or Libyan studies of the situation have been translated into English as it is a sort of obscure topic. 70.108.237.139 (talk) 01:58, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
Information of Libyan Paratroopers in the Italian Army
[edit]I am interested in getting information about the Lybian paratroopers in the Italian Army, mainly in 1942. Thanks.--OneDalm0 (talk) 01:22, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Merge proposal
[edit]See discussion on Talk:Italian Libya--Kimdime (talk) 00:08, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- I don't agree with the merge proposal. The articles are related to different years ("Libya" was created in 1934 by governor Balbo; before that year there was an Italian colony divided in the sections of Tripolitania, Cyrenaica and Fezzan).--Image26 (talk) 23:39, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- I don't agree too with the merge proposal.B.D. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.233.107.199 (talk) 15:48, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
That doesn't matter. Both articles talk about the same thing. Even if "Libya" wasn't created until 1934, what we today call Libya is what is referred to. King Philip V of Spain (talk) 09:14, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

- Italy renounced its claim to Libya in the Paris Peace Treaties, 1947, the former colony was then under the Allied administration of Libya of Britain and France (and had been since the end of the Western Desert campaign) until the UN-mandated independence was formally achieved in 1951. Hope this explains things. Meluiel (talk) 18:14, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
