Christmas No. 1

[edit]

Just wanted to say, it so should have been christmas number one, in 2005. X Factor and other shows that are similar continually spawn "artists" that destroy the fame that other bands and real artists have worked so hard for... *Sigh* Well it's all history now. Just wanted to say that. =D --JJMan 20:18, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Comments

  • "inspiration from ... inspiration..." bit repetitive.
    • Changed.
  • You link "JCB digger" to JCB but not "digger" (or backhoe loader) at all.
    • These two terms were already linked separately... Am I missing something?
  • "song is tells" spare word.
    • Typo fixed.
  • "for the sake of democracy" this sounds like a quote, or at least this idea is not encyclopedic really so should in quotes.
    • Removed.
  • "who eventually published the song.[1] " sorry for my ignorance, does this mean the same as release? When did this happen?
    • Going by what the source is talking about, the only term it used is "published", when I'm pretty sure is different than released... The source does not mention when this occurred. If this sentence needs to be changed, I'm going to need a little help.
  • "reflects on the anguish he received because of his dyslexia" this isn't reflected at all in the lead but is the first sentence of the Composition section.
    • True, true. This wasn't easy to work in, but I think I've got it.
  • "JCB digger" link here.
    • I linked digger, but "JCB" is already linked in the Background section.
  • "sharing a laugh" not sure this is encyclopedic.
    • Changed to "laughing"
  • "of D major and" overlinked.
    • Oops.
  • "that the bypass mentioned" bypass is overlinked.
    • My bad.
  • "2005 but stalled at" but it stalled.
    • Right.
  • MonkeeHub - was MonkeyHub in the lead.
    • Yes, it was already there.
  • "latter song were" no need for "song".
    • Okay.
  • "entered the UK Singles Chart at number" overlinked.
    • Leftover from a previous section merge
  • "two to one" -> "twofold"
    • I had completely forgotten that was a word until now.
  • "the top 90" is "top 90" a thing?
    • No, but I thought it was more precise. I'll changed it to top 75, which is more realistic.
  • "by Carter USM to write" spell out USM.
    • The one review that was already here when I came along. Go figure. Making the change, and I also introduced them.
  • "childhood nostalgia and" previous para had unlinked "nostalgic".
    • Mostly because it was a derivative form of the word. Linked.
  • File:JCB song video screenshot.png has two unacceptable "n.a." as responses to NFCC criteria.
  • Any negative comment on the video?
    • Not that I could find. All the reviews I found mostly focused on the song.
  • Link Transformers.
    • Transformers is already linked in the Critical reception section.
  • I note B.A. Baracus gets no mention. I pity the fool.
    • Added to Comp section. I neglected to notice that final section of the source.
  • No need for Certifications table to be sortable (one entry).
    • I'm not sure if that's possible... Muhandes can cert tables be unsortable?

That's it. Good memories, I enjoyed this song. Cheers, on hold. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 15:53, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@The Rambling Man: I attended to most of these issues. I'll take care of the video image right now. Take a look at my notes above and respond to any that are problematic. Thank you. ResPM (T🔈 🎵C) 18:29, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Happy with these changes, sorry about the JCB/Transformers notes, I was distracted during the review. And thanks for fixing the fair use rationale. Promoting, cheers. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 20:06, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A46 not a motorway

[edit]

Article states that the A46 is a motorway, which it isn't. 'A roads' are by definition not motorways. RichYPE1 (talk) 18:43, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
