A fact from Jan Huitema appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 30 December 2014 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that MEPJan Huitema campaigned with a 1954 Fordson Dexta tractor, arguing for "farmers' wisdom"?
The year he started as MEP is relevant and should be in the lead section. That it's also in the infobox is irrelevant.
There should be no flags in infoboxes per WP:INFOBOXUSE.
Huitema is an MP for rather than from the Netherlands. That he is from the Netherlands is already implied by the fact that he is Dutch. Since there are also MP's with nationality from one member-state serving as elected MEP's for another member state, there should be a distinction. Crispulop (talk) 18:32, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
