move page[edit]

Can any one move this page from Janzur to Janzour, Because the arabic name is جَنْزُور and in english the Correct is Janzour not Janzur, It is difference -- (talk) 16:34, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

This article was moved from Janzour to Janzur in September 2011 in this edit by Kwamikagami, so I hope Kwamikagami will come here and comment. Because Janzour is already a redirect to Janzur, you can use the process at Wikipedia:Requested moves if there is consensus to make the move. Good luck! GoingBatty (talk) 16:44, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
@GoingBatty: I will wait him for some time and then I will request move the page, Thanks for your response -- (talk) 18:32, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
  • @Kwamikagami: Hello, Are you oppose to move page from Janzur to Janzour?, Because Janzour is Correct Translation of "جَنْزُور" and is used more than Janzur or Zanzur -- (talk) 18:32, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
(edit conflict) The spelling is inconsistent even within this article. Do you have any evidence that the French spelling is more common than standard English transliteration, janzūr? — kwami (talk) 18:33, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
In the Ngrams database,[1] Janzour is not found at all. In GBooks, adding "Libya", the two spellings are equally common. — kwami (talk) 18:48, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
@Kwamikagami: ur is not like ʊər, our is like ʊər, the زُ (not ز) is long vowel With و, and use Macron (Macron page says in Uses "Transcriptions of Arabic typically use macrons to indicate long vowels ا - و - ي"), and after ُز is و, so جَنْزُور is Janzūr so the Correct is Janzour not Janzur -- (talk) 19:51, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
No. Ou is the common French spelling. The English equivalent is u. — kwami (talk) 21:30, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
@Kwamikagami: If you are sure of that, it is OK, Can you click here (Google Translate), and listen to the pronunciation, and verify that it was true or not. -- (talk) 13:15, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
