"Descent" Why is his "Irish and Welsh descent" pushed front and centre by mentioning it in the first line of his article? This is entirely out of keeping with almost every other article on Wikipedia. Seems like the usual suspects simply can't bear to let a biography of an English person stand without making aggressive ethnic claims on him. This sort of thing belongs two or three paragraphs in if it is indeed worth mentioning at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.27.246.132 (talk) 23:34, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mentions of awards in the lede

[edit]

I’m not sure that I understand why Emmy nominations are deemed to be of such importance that they make their appearance in the lede, whereas other nominations don’t. I’ve just watched him in The Crown and frankly, it’s a masterful performance. And it had 3 nominations. But they’re not mentioned in the lede. And there have been many others, for other roles. Likewise. Doesn’t the mention of just some nominations (those for Emmys) imply that that’s all there are? Better, surely, to mention only his award win, to avoid any such implications.
