Copyright problem[edit]

I must say I was very surprised at the copyright infringement message in connection with this short article. As far as I can see, the only information which could pose a problem is Jim Clemes' date of birth: 29 July 1957. Admittedly, the phrasing of the second para of the article does begin "Born on 29 July 1957 in Luxembourg" (which happens to coincide with the phrasing at the referenced site) but this is pure coincidence. I have written over 100 biographies and always start in this way. Recent examples are Guy Rewenig and Lambert Schlechter. So it must be a case of an over-attentive bot! I hardly think quoting a date of birth could be considered a copyright infringement anyway, especially as the same date of birth (though not in English) is given in two of the other documents used to reference the article. Other information concerning Clemes' education and the name of his firm is also available elsewhere.

I spent a considerable amount of time researching third-party references for this article in order to avoid quoting from the information given by Jim Clemes himself. I was half intending to expand on the appreciation of his work from other third party sources but I would now like to have the copyright problem resolved before I go any further.

If there is a copyrightable item which should be removed from the article, I would appreciate more precise information on the offending text. I might then be in a better position to do something about it. - Ipigott (talk) 16:38, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Something in this bot's algorithm clearly needs attention. -- Hoary (talk) 23:47, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
