Merge

[edit]
The following discussion is closed and will soon be archived: Outcome was merge and redirect

I propose to merge the (supported/non-duplicating) content of John Francis Crowley to the 1920 Cork hunger strike article. And to redirect the title to the latter article. I propose this because the bio article deals entirely and only with the subject's association with that event (WP:BLP1E), because otherwise all the WP:MERGEREASONs apply, as the bio article is otherwise a potential WP:CFORK, and because that's the case for all the other participants in the hunger strike (eg. Joseph Kenny, John Power (hunger striker), etc are all also redirects). I hadn't redirected before now as I had understood the creator of the bio article had intended to add other (non-BLP1E) content. That hasn't been the case.  Resolved. OK. Absent any other thoughts, I've gone ahead and completed the proposed merge and redirect. In terms of the merge, and as noted above, the only content that didn't already exist in the target article was confirmation that the two Crowleys were brothers, from Ballylanders, with the same father (and their DOBs). Everything else (hunger strike dates, participants, purpose, overlap with McSwiney, "world record", image, etc) was already covered in the target article. I did not merge the unsupported content (spouse's name and date of marriage). Closing thread. Guliolopez (talk) 14:57, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
