It seems that Blair was later more commonly known as "J. Hamilton Blair" - not sure quite why he switched from one to the other. See Reading Observer, Saturday 31 July 1920.

He served in the RN during WWI under this name, in submarines, and was awarded the DSC in 1917 (oddly not presented until 1921).
