British Empire?

This article states: "On one hand, he was praised for his skill, including his success in India." Really? Perhaps the author means Indiana. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.50.92.159 (talk) 20:01, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nope. I meant India. Boyd served there as a mercenary, commanding a unit employed by the Nizam of Hyderabad. After several years in India Boyd sold his units equipment and returned to the United States. Verification: Responding to the West: Essays on Colonial Domination and Asian Agency. The Philosophy of India and its Impact on American Thought. From Sea to Shining Sea: From the War of 1812 to the Mexican War, the Saga of America's Expansion. Parliamentary Papers, House of Commons and Command, Volume 3.
