Kill / slaughter[edit]

An anonymous user reverted my use of "kill" to "slaughter" with "(POV - "slaughter" is the commonly used term)"

It would take a new and interesting level of petty-mindedness to start an reversion war over this, but for the record: I think "kill" and "slaughter" are both fairly objective terms, and I only changed "slaughter" to "kill" to avoid repeating the word in the section heading, after replacing the clearly POV "Pork Production".

"Slaughter" is the commonly used term in the industry, that's true. But the industry is made of people with a particular POV, so that itself is not a reason to use it.

Anyway, I'm happy with "slaughter". It's neither an emotive term like "murder" nor a euphemism like "processed". I'm just puzzled that someone saw the objective "kill" as POV.

Founders and HQ[edit]

Corporate structure[edit]

I was researching this article to add more reliable sources and came across a different name for the company, so I wanted to bring it here to the Talk page. Although this WP article title is Johnsonville Foods, I found this source in the Milwaukee Business Journal refer to it as Johnsonville LLC. Then in 2019, this Milwaukee Business Journal article refers to Johnsonville Holdings Inc. as the "parent company ... of Johnsonville LLC." Makes me wonder if this article should be called Johnsonville LLC (instead of Johnsonville Foods), and we can then refer to the holding company within the article.
