Razed and relocated?
[edit]I reverted a series of edits describing how the town is gone, razed to the ground except for a few buildings and the name Jolon re-assigned to the group of buildings around The Hacienda. Where's the proof of this? Binksternet (talk) 19:46, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Pronunciation?
[edit]I've driven past on Hwy 101 (and even on Jolon Rd.) many times. To date, I still don't know if it's pronounced Joe-loan, Joe-loan, Hoe-loan, or Ho-loan, or if it's closer to "lawn" than "loan". Anyone know? — X S G 06:48, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- It's Ho-loan. I've added to the article. — X S G 19:04, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Not there
[edit]Jolon as a town no longer exists. The Post Office has been moved onto Fort Hunter Liggett. I was stationed there for two and a half years and recently visited the area. Miller's Ranch is still there, but with a fence around it. The hooches that used to be there are gone and it is now a 'wilderness camping ground'. There is your proof. Eyewitness proof. And the pronunciation is Spanish..."Hoe-lan" Accent on the first syllable....short 'a' in the second.204.184.12.198 (talk) 19:29, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
