Comment on Removed Info

[edit]

I saw the ANI discussion about this removal of material, so I came to take a look. My review of the sources is that, this is definitely WP:UNDUE, as this is all information about Prince and Krause, not about Wefald. I do think that we need to add one more sentence back, along with the citation in which Prince counter-claims that Wefald did know. Given that he went as far as to file a lawsuit to that issue, it's important enough to Wefald's career that it can/should be included. Once that lawsuit is finally resolved and reported on, we should again adjust the article to reflect the final decision (or negotiated settlement, as the case may be). I'm going to Be bold and add that sentence in; please let me know if you think it's still stepping across the bounds of what is acceptable. Also, to Spacini: It's possible that some of this info, properly written, belongs on the Ron Prince article (which I haven't looked at yet). These sources seem to be reliable, although we have to be careful to note that each of these claims are nothing more than that--claims made on a lawsuit that hasn't yet been resolved. • Sorry, I was away from the computer for quite awhile. I have no real problem with how it stands now. It's just that the case was taking up more than half of his bio before. And once I was accused of whitewashing it, I knew I needed to take it to a higher level. Thanks for your work. Lithistman (talk) 04:42, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I totally agree with bringing it to ANI, and you were totally right to strip everything out--to me, at least, WP:BLP means we should always err on the side of keeping things out until we can be assured the info is verified and not undue. I'll keep the article watchlisted, as often claims of "whitewashing" have a tendency to not die down quickly. Qwyrxian (talk) 05:00, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, from the comments left at ANI, it seems I should have taken it to the BLPN board. Either way, though, the outcome is good, and I appreciate having an extra set of eyes on this article. Lithistman (talk) 05:03, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
