Category:American slave owners

No mention of slave-owning. I feel that this category should be restricted to people whose slave-owning history was notable in itself. Valetude (talk) 00:02, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. While the subject's father was indisputably a plantation owner with many slaves, the sources which indicate this subject owned slaves are not present yet. It is possible and perhaps likely the subject owned a few slaves in a city where slavery was common. But categories should be defining, and "slave owner" doesn't seem to define this subject. If more sources prove otherwise, I'll be open to re-discussing this. BusterD (talk) 12:10, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
