Juan Garrido's birthplace
[edit]I have deleted the sentence claiming that Juan Garrido came from the Kingdom of Kongo. The article cited does not say this, but only that he came to Portugal around 1495. At that point, there were hardly any people of any status coming to Portugal from Kongo, aside from Kongolese ambassadors and students. Beepsie (talk) 19:04, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
Other Black Conquistadores
[edit]The current link to a Juan de Villanueva is a link to the very-well-known Spanish Neoclassicist architect and not the lesser-known conquistador for whom there is no page yet; I will remove the link (which also comes up as red on the Spanish article).
