Needs updating

[edit]

Nothing since 2012 ? The only reference doesn't seem to work and the KSTAR website itself seems very out of date. Graphs somewhere of 4 out of over 1000 shots - longest ~900ms. Article says 2011 upgrade planned - has it started ? - Rod57 (talk) 03:14, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Now it has record claims after 2011 it is not clear when it was shutdown for an upgrade, what was upgraded, and when it came back into operation. - Rod57 (talk) 10:38, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Does KSTAR ever report plasma density or claim a triple product

[edit]

Does KSTAR ever report plasma density or claim a triple product. Lots of time and temperature records are listed but without knowing the plasma density we can't tell the Lawson criterion#triple product. - Rod57 (talk) 09:55, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Claims of achieving fusion

[edit]

I removed a claim of KSTAR achieving fusion together with a citation. KSTARs goal is not to achieve fusion but to heat the plasma for a duration of time. From a media perspective news of fusion is an attractive asset which generates money. The real news is that the researchers have had an article published in Nature.
